After completing a northern saw-whet owl (see the completed sculpture under the BIRDS tab) I felt that this owl is naturally such a cute owl that it would lend itself well to a whimsical piece. So I created a whimsical owl based on the northern saw-whet owl.
Hoo's Happy represents an owl having been told a funny joke and simply enjoying life. Interestingly, owls do really make faces like this but they are unlikely laughing. LOL.
